Topic Overview:

How Women Win in Male-Dominated Industries -- Entrepreneurship in the Tangled Vines of Technology and Wine

Join Kettering for Women on March 26th for a discussion with
Cathy Huyghe, CEO and co-founder of Enolytics, columnist for Forbes and Inc. and author of Hungry for Wine.   Learn how she developed her passion and talent in hospitality, created several media properties, and then co-founded a big data company focused on the wine industry.  Cathy’s perspective as a female entrepreneur in both wine and technology will offer insight on working in these male dominated environments.  As a mother and entrepreneur, she can offer practical ideas on prioritization, networking and the use of social media properties to promote her brand and business.

In addition, Cathy is a dedicated student of mindfulness and will be speaking in depth on this at the May 4th Kettering Friday morning meeting.  Mindfulness has become a regular topic in business – written about in Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Inc and the Financial Times to name a few.  Be sure to take advantage of this second opportunity to learn from Cathy.  Click here to register for Cathy's May 4th speaking engagement during the Friday meeting.

True to the spirit of Kettering, Cathy pays it forward by being a founding member of the Women’s Solidarity Society at the Center for Civil & Human Rights, and by serving on the Board of Directors for the Harvard Alumni Association, the Food Project, and the Greening Youth Foundation. She also served as President of the Harvard Club of Georgia, and she established writingforseva.com in support of mindfulness.

We will also be educated and entertained by our sommelier, also female!, Nance Donaldson, from It's About Wine (http://www.its-about-wine.com)

Nance Donaldson is a first-rate wine educator bringing a fun and creative approach to tasting. She has been enjoying wines and sharing wine knowledge with friends and clients since she discovered her wine palate in 1988.

After studying in the vineyards of Australia, Italy, Austria, France, New Zealand, California and the North Georgia Mountains, she began her formal training with L’Ecole du Vin and holds the Certified Specialist of Wine designation by the Society of Wine Educators.  She recently received the Advanced Level III Certificate from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust passing with merit and distinction upon completion of studies at The Atlanta Wine School.

In August 2011, Ms. Donaldson blended her passion for wines with her extensive 22-year experience in commercial real estate to form her new company, It’s About Wine. When she's not teaching the art of wine tasting, she is out helping clients find the best locations for their wine-related industries whether it’s a wine shop, wine bar, wine storage facility or distribution warehouse.
